These subs hit pretty hard. They mostly hit the higher low frequency bass notes. I purchased these for a friend and tested them out in my car with a 2000 watt hifonics amp. For the most part they hit really good for songs like "a milli by lil wayne" but doesnt hit low notes like if you played "i put on by young jeezy" the last 2 bass frequencies do not hit at all. From my time with it (maybe 3 weeks) even after a break in the lows just dont hit. Maybe other people are confused with "LOW" frequencies by saying they hit lowwwww. they are loud enough though. Overall i'd say 3.5 just because im used to subwoofers going lower and thats my taste.

I am powering these speakers with a rockford fosgate 500 watt amp and it sounds great! The bass is clean and it hits hard. Obviously, these aren't the best subs around...but for the price, you can't beat them. . .and MTX products have always been reliable to me. The main thing that seperates these subs from the more expensive ones is that these don't even come close to hitting the real low bass. Other than that, they're great!!

Bought these subs for a great price and sounds amazing. Hits great for all songs. I recomend buying a seperate amp and not the terminator amp. I bought the boss 2000 amp, 1200 amps and it pushes these subs so well. If u want great loud bass for a little over 100$ then buy these. People will here u coming miles away. These are top of the line subs. If u are looking to replace your old set like i was weeks ago and you are reading this, trust me you will not be dissapointed.

I was somewhat skeptical about this brand, but now have no regrets. I have them in a 1997 Camry with a Rockford Fosgate t500, 4 gauge wiring, after market HU, stock door & rear speakers. There is another listing for the MTX subs together with an amp that I almost considered. Glad I listened to other reviewers and just got these subs-the amp in the combo package is nowhere near enough to push these things. Even the pros at the car audio shop I went to said the same thing. To give an example of how great they sound: After the install I went to see my husband at work to let him hear them. His coworker came out of the building and asked "What's with all the noise?". I now need Dynamat, because I don't want to be one of those trunk-rattlers. Plus I can tell that the spoiler will eventually come off if I don't soundproof. Yeah, it's pretty substantial bass! I say get these subs, but don't skimp on the amp.

These subs are a good deal! i have a 500 watt rockford fosgate 500 db amp and these hit better then anything ive had before. they are good looking and blow your ears. keep in mind that you need the right kind of amp for any subwoofers, so for all you people who give these a bad rating remember most electronic malfunctions are user error.

It's like heaven...only it's not, but these subs kick ass. These bad boys are guaranteed to put some thump in your trunk or wherever else you choose to place them. My ears never hurt so good

I bought these after my old subs (Lanzar Max Pro Duo [??]) were stolen. Since the stolen subs were simply adequate, I definitely wanted something that would perform a lot better and give me that bang for my buck. Well, after extensive research, I found that these were affordable, and seemed to get good reviews. Let me tell you, best $130 I've ever spent! I bought these along with an Arctic 1000w amp and a Boss 8-gauge installation kit, and they are amazing. I can turn the bass to -6 (the lowest), and these things will still thump! When the bass is all the way up, holy cow! They make my car rattle and shake with bass. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a good beginner system that is affordable and still booms like a mother..
